In Den Bosch is the largest manufacturing site in Europe, producing a.o. robots, relays, PLC’s, sensors, Industrial PC’s and digital screens with some 320 employees. Den Bosch also houses the European Distribution Center.
The Den Bosch production is momentarily switching form build-to-stock to build-to-order. Production can be characterized as being low volume/high complexity/ high mix.
Procurement in Den Bosch is headed by the procurement manager, who is member of the Den Bosch management team and is accountable for appr. 67% of turnover (the procurement spend).
The procurement manager recently drafted a plan to strengthen the position of procurement and after approval thereof he could hire an additional 3 category buyers.
Procurement has 2 teams:
- Procurement for production with 5 strategic purchasers and 1 assistent
- Procurement of finished goods with 2 strategic purchasers.
And momentarily there also is a semiconductor crisis team.
Procurement of electrical parts is lately partly replaced by procurement of mechanical parts for the production of robots and Industrial PC’s.
As Category Buyer you will focus on Servicing the internal stakeholders within the Business Unit Industrial Automation and on Total Cost of Ownership (Quality, Logistics, Technology, Cost,).
You will be responsible for procurement of metals, plastics, designed parts (more or less finished goods that need some additional processing) and depending on your background and interests it may also involve packaging and/or labels. In total a spend of appr. € 10 mio.
Your stakeholders are mainly located in production.
You will work for appr. 60% on escalations, quality deviations and the like, mainly caused by the highly complex production; for 20% you will work on tactical aspects such as contracting, vendor management, innovation projects (NPI) and on cost down projects.
The last 20% is focused on strategic aspects, like the impact onm procurement of the phasing in- or -out of products, making a category strategy plan with KPI’s.
Ýour main stakeholders are (beside production): Quality, R&D, Engineering, Planning and Warehousing/Shipping. You also closely work together with colleagues in other locations in the world.
- Bachelor degree in a relevant area
- Strong background in a technical environment
- Procurement experience with a TCO/QLTC mindset
- Strong communicator, bridge builder.
- Proven ability to successfully manage complex purchasing related projects.
- Dutch & English language proficiency.
- Willing to travel (10%).
A salary is foreseen of appr. € 5.000 gross per month, depending on experience and know-how (in the position a maximum applies of € 5.400 gross/month); 8,33% holiday allowance; 29 holidays; a bonus of appr. € 2.250 depending on company results and your KPI’s; pension arrangement.
