Despite being a global test and quality solutions leader, it is not well known for a quite interesting reason: its products create such a competitive advantage to its customers that these do not want Averna to talk about it. Averna develops and manufactures tailor made test and inspection systems for leading companies in a.o. the automotive, aerospace & defense and semiconductor sectors.

Its headquarter is in Montreal, Canada and the European headquarter is in Hasselt (B). In the Netherlands, the company is based in Arnhem.

Tasks

You will be responsible for the management and delivery of customer projects.

You will become involved in the sales-phase of these projects once there is a good chance that the project will become a success. You will then do the preparation for the execution phase: make a projectplan incl. planning, resources, select suppliers, etc. Making sure that once the purchase order is received from the customer, a headstart can be made. Ofcourse you will have full responsibility for the timely execution of the project, within budget and specification. The challenges are mainly that customers usually come with specification changes during the execution phase, whilst the planning can not change. One of the major issues is to be able to invoice the extra work, beside managing the additional strain on the already tight planning.

The value of a project varies from several hundreds of thousands Euro’s to several millions.

You organize the production process, monitor progress, take care of all customer contacts and reporting both internally and towards customers. Beside that is vendor management an important task. At the end of the project you will arrange for the transport, installation and testing (Factory Acceptance Test & Site Acceptance Test) of the complete system. After final delivery and acceptance of the system by the customer, you will do the projectevaluation and finalize the last open issues.

You projectteam consists of usually 5, up to 10 members: mechanical designers and experts in electro, software and production. Often people from differing cultures, what creates a challenge to your leadership. You usually work on 2 to 3 projects simultaneously.

You report to the teamleader Program Management and are based in Arnhem.

Your profile

  • Bachelor diploma or similar experience in engineering, economics or equivalent
  • experience managing engineering projects for 3 to 5 years.
  • familiar with interpretation of mechanical drawings, fluid/pneumatic diagrams and electrical diagrams. You have basic knowledge of machine safety;
  • full command of English; speaking Dutch is an asset;
  • willing to travel occasionally;
  • skilled communicator.
