Some 250 professionals work in this aerospace company in the ‘the Hague’ area. In its facilities (clean rooms and an ‘industry 4.0’ production facility) engineers design, produce, assemble and test high-tech products for the international aerospace industry.
Increasing competition and commercialisation result in a very dynamic market where costs and delivery times are under great pressure. Company is a project organisation with a matrix structure. Production of components and subassemblies is outsourced to suppliers. Future success also depends on the lean organization of the entire supply chain: suppliers, production and delivery to customers.
The position
You report into the head of industrialisation.
The objective in your role is to create design-to-cost models for the programms you are working for. Based on such a model you organize and optimize production of
The major issues at the moment are the production supporting applications, where the administrative processes need to be simplified and rationalized. This may sound simple, yet no single programm is able to carry the cost of this process and therefore additional funds need to be secured. If the administrative processes around production can be simplified, tenders can offer lower cost prices per unit and this will likely have significant impact on the win rate of tenders/quotes.
Once the arrays bid is won, you need to design and implement the entire production process.
For quotes/tenders you will work closely together with the proposal manager, system engineering, and a project controller. You will then be responsible for the costing of production and the entire supply chain.
For your more regular tasks you will come to work closely together with colleagues in the departments manufacturing engineering, system engineering, supply chain and production. And also with procurement and suppliers.
