International chemical company. The Procurement department is mainly based in Amsterdam.
The procurement department is headed by the CPO. He has 2 direct reports: the VP Indirect procurement and the VP Raw materials procurement. The entire Amsterdam procurement team comprises more than 100 persons. Within the Indirects team, the MRO and Capex team counts 15 persons: Global category managers, Regional category buyers and Buyers.
The vacancy reports into the Global Category manager.
You will mainly come to serve the 2 sites in Spain. Your objective is to secure supply chains, -quality and -vendor service levels and achieve cost reductions. You will focus on the procurement of MRO, varying from process equipment to tools and PPE’s.
You are in charge of the operational part of the procurement process: issue PO’s and call-offs; follow up on PO’s to ensure that items are shipped and delivered on time; address and solve issues that arise in this process; prepare and approve financial transactions within your mandate/authority level.
On top of these operational tasks, you will assist your Global sourcing manager in the supplier selection and contracting process, e.g. preparing and coordinating ‘requests for quotation’, providing relevant information and participating in supplier negotiations.
In addition you are expected to share your learnings with your colleagues and identify and initiate process improvements.
Your main stakeholders are the maintenance-, engineering- and production colleagues at the sites you procure for, plus your Global category manager in Amsterdam and other procurement colleagues in Amsterdam as well.
The culture in the Amsterdam office can best be described as very international/intercultural, with a lot of freedom to manage your own tasks. English is the common language.
Some travel to the sites in Spain may take place.
You will start on a secondment (detachering) basis for a period of 6 months. A contract directly with our principal is likely after this 6 months period.
Once you have a direct contract with our principal, the following conditions apply: a max. gross salary of appr. € 55.000 per year, depending on experience and knowledge, a discretionary bonus depending on your performance and company results, 26 vacation days. For your pension you will be required to contribute appr. 3% of your salary.
