Job description
You report into the Procurement manager and closely work together with your manager for the Category ‘mechanical parts’ and with operational buyer(s).
Together with your category manager, you draft, implement and monitor the commodity strategy and where needed make adjustments in the supply chain and/or internal processes.
At the start you will find that your job for some 70% consists out of operational work (sending out RFQ’s, evaluating quotations, etc.). You are expected to reduce this work to max. 30% by contracting selected suppliers in terms of delivery times, costprices and -calculations, QA, etc. In order that the operational work can be done by the operational buyers.
For the longer term you analyze whether the company’s QLTC (quality, logistics, technology and cost) needs are met by the present supply base and draft a plan for corrective actions.
Your other (than operational) tasks further comprise supplier evaluations, managing supplier relationships and drafting and implementing actions to develope (strategic) suppliers. You participate in supplier account teams lead to manage the relationships with contracted vendors.
Your success will to a large degree be determined by the degree to which you are able to obtain buy-in for your plans and activities from your stakeholders, mainly being manufacturing engineering, QA, operational procurement.
Your profile
You possess HBO working level, a procurement background in the high-tech Metal and/or Mechanical industry and experience with procurement of machined parts. You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
A strong, yet open personality and a persuasive communication style are key. You are a real problem solver, who keeps track of the long-term goals even under high operational pressure. You are a multi-tasker with a helicopter view while working on several projects at once. You have a strong focus on TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and continuous improvement.
Good command of English is required, plus (at the very least) the willingness to learn Dutch.
The offer
A gross yearly salary up to € 75K, depending on your knowledge and experience; no bonus scheme applies; 27+13 vacation days; a PME pension scheme and 60% of premium paid by the employer; commuting allowance.
