The headquarter is based in the US and globally active in the realization of sizeable, sometimes international, building projects, in the role of delegate of the principal or as main contractor. In the last role the company’s project team (design, calculation work preparation, procurement and project management) is active in the tender phase and outsources all building activities to subcontractors. In the construction phase it monitors and manages the project execution.

Most projects have a value between € and tot 500 mln., like the building of a large office complex, renovation of an airport building, construction of a large distribution centre, newbuild of a factory, etc. Even larger projects are being executed like the worldwide renovation of gasstations for Shell.
You will be part of the projectteam for the last mentioned project and report into the program manager for the Benelux region, who has overall responsibility for the renovation of appr. 200 gasstations (incl. LNG stations) in the Belux-region. The Belgian office is located in Leuven. The worksites will at first mainly be located in the Luxemburg region. In the long run, all of Belgium and Luxemburg will be your working area.
The renovation projects find place on EPCM basis (Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management). You will be end-to-end responsible for individual renovation projects, that have a design/tender up to delivery cycle of appr. 6 to 18 months. Your projectteam will consist of colleagues from design, procurement, quality, safety, calculation, workpreparation and sales.
Beside the usual project variables like budget, planning and quality, safety gets a major amount of attention. Mainly by means of trainings, clear procedures and a lot of communication about and reporting on safety.
You will come to report frequently about your KPI’s to both internal and external stakeholders. In that respect you can also expect to have frequent contact with the principal (Shell). In that respect a seamless communication is required to enlarge the customer’s confidence in the team and the company. Considering all the demanding tasks (managing suppliers, -your team, -your management and -the customer relationship, based on clear targets) strong management skills are essential to assure excellent project execution.
In the position frequent travel within the region is foreseen. In practice you will divide your time by working on the buildingsite, from home and at the local office in Leuven.
Depending on your experience and knowledge, a starting salary applies up to € 65.000 gross/annum. On top of that you will get a personal budget of 7,5% to arrange your own pension, a company car and 28 holidays. A bonus does not apply.
