The Kverneland Group is an international producer of agricultural equipment and one of the world’s largest producers of ploughs. In 2012 Kubota from Japan acquired the Kverneland Group.
The Kverneland Group has some 2.300 employees, mainly in Europe and a turnover of appr. € 500 mio. It’s headquarter is officially based in Stavanger in Norway, but the Dutch location in Nieuw Vennep is gradually becoming the practical headquarter. The Nieuw Vennep location is also an important production site.
This new position reports into the manager manufacturing at Nieuw Vennep, where you are based as well.
There is a gradual migration towards a more centralized form of procurement, and an increasing cooperation with Kubota’s European procurement organization. You mainly procure direct materials and services for the Nieuw Vennep production plant (entirely technical categories), but may also become involved in indirect purchasing. The company applies SAP as ERP system and is busy implementing a new WMS application in it’s Nieuw Vennep-site.
The spend in the Nieuw-Vennep plant is some € 25 mio. Appr. 80-90% thereof is procured by the Nieuw Vennep procurement organization, the remainder by Group procurement.
You manage a team of 2 expediters and 2 senior buyers.
The Group expects each site to realize a cost down of 3 – 3,5%/year. All sites have met this target, except the Nieuw Vennep site. It is expected that you lead the change needed to achieve this target year upon year. You will need to create a vision on the future way of working of Nieuw Vennep’s procurement team, within the Kverneland Group’s procurement organization (which is also based in Nieuw Vennep), obtain buy-in for this vision and consequently make a plan to turn this vision into reality. And thereby achieve tangible results. Professionalization, creating synergies, cooperation with central procurement, getting involved in the start of the product life-cycle (new product development), improving existing processes, finding alternative suppliers globally, vastly improved contracting and solid contract- and supplier management, are other important issues you need to cover.
Your performance will be evaluated according to your ability to realize agreed targets. First of alle cost down, but also OTIF (on time in full) delivery by suppliers, supplier reduction, getting involved in new product development, progress made in the professionalization of your department, etc.
Depending on the buy-in for your plans and your overall performance, a role within the Nieuw Vennep plant’s Management Team is possible.
International travel is foreseen.
Gross yearly salary of initially appr. € 75.000 (max. € 82.000); a bonus scheme of max. 15% (based for 50% on personal performance and for 50% on company performance); 27+13 leave days; PME pension scheme; a permanent employment contract may be offered.
Your reaction with resumé, which shows the requested experience and knowledge, plus your motivation letter, can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org, latest 5 februari 2018.
