Transport Buyer

PRINCIPAL

 

Multinational FMCG corporation. The largest global brand in this sector of industry. Characteristic by its continous growth last 20 years. In particular the logistical centre for EMEA, one of the largest in Europe. From here wholesellers in the area are delivered and on-line sales distributed. In total more than 3000 employees work on site.

The culture of the organization can be characterized as open, people-oriented, dynamic, fast growing, innovative and very multi-cultural.

The incoming stream of goods is for 95% delivered by barge. After processing, the outgoing flow of goods is transported intermodular and by means of express-services. In total about 1 million packages a day leave base.

On the site is a purchase-department, as part of the EMEA-procurement organization. This department is responsible for all purchases related tot he EMEA logistical center, particularly related to transport and capex, besides supporting the daily operation of the logistical center itself.

 

JOB CRITERIA

 

In order to support the sourcing manager Transport & Warehousing, we are looking for a Transport Buyer. Together with 2 direct colleagues the sourcing manager’s team is shaped.

In this role you will focus on outgoing transport inside the region, especially the fine-tuned internet distribution including returns. You also need to follow market developments in the logistical/transport world, actively search for new suppliers and operate an efficient procurement process. An important part of your job is in contract management meaning that you need to keep contracts up-to-date pro-actively.

Your internal stakeholders are particularly the transport managers. You will also work together with the organization responsible for on-line sales at EMEA headquarters.

You will work in the Herentals region in Belgium.

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

You need to be able to get rapidly customized to the transport- and procurement processes.

Furthermore you will have the following background:

  • A certified bachelors education minimal
  • 3-5 years experience in logistics and/or procurement
  • Transport experience is an advantage
  • Very good command of English; Dutch is not required
  • You have strong communication skills

 

JOB OFFER

 

During a period of initially 6 months you will be on the xentys payroll. Afterwards there will be a possibility to enter into a fixed contract with the principal.
