The company has a turnover of over €1.5 billion/year, approximately 2,500 employees, and is known for its high-quality technical expertise and global presence. The company has a fleet of specialized vessels for offshore construction.
Procurement
The procurement team is led by the director of procurement, who leads 4 teams:
- Vessel goods & Services contracting, a team lead with 7 tactical buyers, 3 junior buyers and 3 data specialists
- Vessel goods & Services operations, a team lead with 5 buyers and this vacancy
- Project Subcontracting, a team lead with 7 Contract Engineers
- Subcontracting & Projects operations, a team lead with 8 project buyers
Function
You will report to the team lead procurement Vessel, Goods and Services and have a key role in the procurement process. You ensure that materials and services are available on time and at the best conditions. Many suppliers are already contracted, allowing you to quickly find the right parties within the system. But in practice, not everything is always in stock and there are regular ad hoc requests. This is when your creativity and network come into play. You interact with existing and new suppliers to find smart solutions and ensure that ships and shipyards can continue working without delay.
You work closely with teams such as Technical Services, Superintendents, Yard Managers and Engineers to know exactly what is needed. You put out requests for quotes (RFQ/RFP), negotiate the best deals and process purchase orders according to company standards. You monitor deliveries, check invoices and analyze suppliers and market trends. In addition, you smoothly resolve any issues, claims or contract changes. To always stay one step ahead, you visit suppliers and trade shows and stay abreast of the latest industry developments.
Profile
- MBO+/HBO working and thinking level in Administration, Commerce or Engineering
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the offshore, shipbuilding or petrochemical sector
- Affinity for technical standards and specifications in a project environment
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Structured and independent, with a hands-on mentality
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both oral and written
- Willing to travel as needed
Offer
- This is a full-time position
- Salary up to €70,000 per year gross, depending on knowledge and experience
- Bonus dependent on own and company performance
- 30 leave days
- Working from home 1 day a week
- Pension plan; 50% contribution paid by employer
