With around 700 employees and 1,300 m/f hires. the company generates a turnover of around EUR 350 million, In addition to its operations in the Netherlands, the company also has a presence in Germany and Denmark.
The company has the divisions underground and overhead networks respectively, high-rise and strategic accounts.
The organisation’s focus is increasingly shifting from construction to maintenance, or in other words from a project-oriented organisation to a service-oriented company. This means an increasing focus on sustainable, long-term customer relationships and continuity in management and maintenance. The company works for all major telecom providers.
Procurement department
The procurement department consists of 6 operational buyers, a process analyst and a data specialist, 7 tactical buyers and the manager procurement (this vacancy). The department has a strong focus on improving cooperation with subcontractors and suppliers and is seen by the company as increasingly valuable, partly thanks to good cooperation with internal stakeholders.
Function
As Manager Procurement, you will be responsible for the overall procurement process within the organisation, with an annual spend of €200 million. Purchasing plays a key role in the aforementioned transition from a project-oriented to a service-oriented approach. A blueprint was recently presented for the new procurement policy, which has to be further elaborated and then implemented. You work from a vision: modernise processes, strengthen relationships and manage growing demand.
You are not only strong in terms of content, but above all you are able to build and develop a team.
This is a real management role, in which you are busy coaching, supporting and developing your team on a daily basis. Managing and further professionalising the department are therefore your main tasks. You encourage cooperation both within your team and with stakeholders and thus ensure that the department performs optimally.
You report to the Manager Supply Chain, he values respect, personal growth and good cooperation within the team. He has a clear vision and gives you space to think along, share ideas and implement improvements.
To be successful in this position you like to invest a lot of time in people, you make sure that others excel. You are a “connector” are strong in stakeholder management and know how to motivate and develop people.

- All this on the basis of 38 hours and the collective labour agreement for small metal and engineering.
