Our client is located in the Rotterdam area, has around 100 permanent employees and depending on the number of projects, up to 500 hired staff.
It focuses on the design, construction and installation of complex steel offshore structures, for the wind sector, gas and hydrogen plants and for CO2 storage projects.
To this end, the company provides Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Installation-on-Site and Delivery (Commissioning), the EPCIC project approach, with a strong focus on innovation, quality and safety.
Sustainability plays an increasingly important role here.
There are 5 projects running simultaneously, with a value of max.
€400 mil. per project.
With a turnover of over €250 mil. and strategic expansions, such as the long-term lease of a new production site, they are doubling their production capacity to support the growing demand for renewable energy projects.

Procurement Team
In the procurement team you will work with a Procurement Manager who is responsible for the strategic management of the procurement process and the development of the procurement strategy.
You have four experienced buyers as colleagues who share responsibility for all procurement categories, such as steel, E&I, piping, sub-contracting and outsourcing various services.
There is also a support team member who helps with administrative tasks and communication with suppliers.
Function
As Senior Buyer you are responsible for the complete procurement for one or more projects and will be involved from the moment an order is awarded.
You focus on the strategy and tactical procurement, but also perform operational tasks.
You will create procurement planning for the major projects, using where possible the tenders requested by the tender team in the sales phase, eventually placing the purchase orders, drafting framework agreements, etc.
You then monitor the timely delivery of ordered goods and services to ensure that everything stays on schedule.
As a team in this role, you will work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers, be the first point of contact for suppliers and maintain strong relationships with them.
Engineering is outsourced.
Profile
- Technical education at college level, NEVI1 is a plus
- Working and procurement experience in a project driven industry
- Preferably some experience in the tactical procurement of materials such as HVAC, piping, E&I and of subcontracting.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English
- Communication strong, good team player.
Offer
- Salary up to €80,000 depending on knowledge and experience
