Function
The procurement team near Dordrecht is led by the Procurement Manager EMEA. She is responsible for the procurement of Capex, Opex/MRO and Indirects on behalf of the plants near Dordrecht and in Aberdeen. The procurement team consists of 4 tactical buyers and one operational buyer.
Your main tasks are to issue tenders for planned and unplanned projects, with a spend of 70 million, of which 10 million is capex and 5 million is maintenance. Consider tenders for tank replacement or repair or for services such as industrial cleaning, E&I services, scaffolding, waste management, etc. You evaluate the received quotations together with your colleagues from production and technical service. You then negotiate with-and contract the selected vendor.
You will work closely with your manager and fellow tactical buyers to create a purchasing plan based on forecasts, but flexibility is required in the dynamics of a manufacturing environment. Other issues may take priority over the plan. Good contact with production managers is crucial to know where bottlenecks are and what to expect. Your manager offers a lot of support and freedom, but expects high quality of your work.
International travel will be sporadic in the position.
Your profile
- HBO work/thinking level
- At least 5 years of purchasing experience
- Extensive experience working in a manufacturing or process environment
- Solution-oriented, proactive, flexible, go-getter
- You have a good command of the Dutch language.
