Principal
Our client is active as a contractor in the construction and maintenance of data networks (especially fiber optics) and has about 2,000 employees. Due to the rapidly increasing demand for good ICT connections, the many FTTH (Fiber to the home) projects, the company is growing rapidly. In addition, the company has international ambitions and now operates in Germany and Denmark. Our client has a number of divisions: underground projects, overhead projects or high-rise projects, in addition there are divisions that exclusively serve one strategic client.
Purchasing Department
The purchasing department consists of 4 operational buyers, an ERP/process analyst, 4 tactical buyers plus the manager of purchasing. One tactical buyer is responsible for the material category and 3 serve one or more divisions primarily focused on the subcontractor and strategic customer category. The purchasing manager has a clear vision and is well on his way to taking the organization and the purchasing department to the next level (purchasing 2.0).
Function
As a tactical buyer, you are in constant contact with subcontractors and project teams. You are part of the project MT and analyze the internal demand and translate it as specifically as possible to the suppliers and subcontractors. This limits your risks, provides clear direction for the contract and ensures that the subcontractor has a healthy incentive to deliver the work as agreed. Mind you, long-term relationships must be sought, mutual trust must be built which for our client is the basis of working together. In addition, you provide input from your division to further develop the procurement strategy.
Profile
- Completed college education
- Experience in a technical field
- 5 years of purchasing experience
- Process-oriented, analytical and communication strong.
- You have mastered the Dutch

- Salary between €50,000 and €78,000 on an annual basis depending on the experience you bring with you
- All this based on 38 hours and the collective bargaining agreement for small metal and engineering
