Function

Thanks to the growth of the company, this position was created.

You will be responsible for the procurement of all parts required for the production of emergency power plants and BESS’n. Think of motors, generators, frames, containers, transformers, tanks, cooling, control panels, etc. A total spend of approx. € 55 mio. The purchasing manager will initially continue to purchase the most strategic components (engines, generators) himself, but the intention is that you will eventually take over that as well. Your initial spend is therefore approx. € 25 mio.

In itself, procurement for production is already well organized. We work with regular suppliers, we have (good) contracts with them, and we have a multi-vendor policy which means that several suppliers are contracted for each component.

What are you going to add to this?
You will primarily take on day-to-day tasks.
That means supervising purchasing for production (the projects).
Know that there are continuously about 10 projects in production.
The project managers and project engineers for these projects are constantly at your desk because they have to be the first to be helped.
It is therefore important to be able to prioritize well.

In addition, the level of suppliers will have to be improved. So you will be involved in supplier development. You will also be sourcing, selecting and auditing (together with engineering) and contracting new suppliers, as well as developing existing suppliers, in order to create more competition in the supply chain.

You’re going to take supplier management to the next level.
That now takes place in Excel, so an application needs to be selected that supports this process.
You will be pulling this project: selecting the application, developing and implementing new processes, etc.

And, you will play an important role in the make/buy project where everything the company currently does in-house (think of production, engineering) will come under the microscope to determine if it qualifies for outsourcing.

Other projects you can sink your teeth into are: introduction of entry control and making the contribution of procurement transparent through a new application.

Your key stakeholders are project managers and engineers, production and planning.

Travel at home and abroad will account for approximately 10% of your time.

Your profile

  • HBO working/thinking level
  • Sound experience in a technical procurement role in a manufacturing environment at a tactical level
  • Strategic thinker, experience with change management in processes and/or supply chain
  • Communicative strong, in English and preferably also in Dutch
  • Willing to travel + in possession of a driver’s license

Offer

  • Preferably full-time contract, possibly 4 days/week
  • Gross annual salary up to approximately €85,000 per year depending on knowledge and experience.
  • CAO Metaal Techniek – Technical Installation Companies.
  • Company car (electric/hybrid)
  • Pension covered by PMT
  • 30 vacation days per year in case of full-time employment; opportunity to purchase additional days
  • Starts with one-year contract; intent to permanent position
  • Homework policy: this is possible to some extent by agreement.
