Our client, with a global team of 650 FTE, including 200 in Asia and 450 in Eindhoven, specializes in the design and production of high-tech components, modules and systems.
With annual sales of €100 million and procurement spend of around €60 million, the company focuses on precision engineering, machining and 3D metal printing.
Customers are leading players in aerospace, defense and other high-tech industries.
Function
Reporting to the Strategic Purchasing Manager, you will focus on a commodity with the main products being: technical services, outsourcing machining and assembly, E&I sensors, rubber, plastics. In your commodity team you will work closely with an operational buyer and a Quality engineer. The purchasing team consists of 2 Tactical buyers (+ 1 vacancy), 2 junior Tactical buyers.
The purchasing manager is busy introducing automotive purchasing techniques into the organization. By being critical of existing ways of working, you can break old patterns and achieve great results.
For your commodity, you will create a procurement strategy in which you will optimize the entire supply chain and for which you will get buy-in from all your stakeholders, then roll out this plan and report on progress on a regular basis.
You will negotiate long-term contracts with suppliers with the goal of maximizing collaboration and achieving savings.
In addition, you manage the relationship with suppliers based on the QLTC approach (Quality, Logistics, Technology and Costs).
Furthermore, you supervise supplier audits and manage escalations.
Where necessary, you initiate improvement projects to raise supplier performance.
25% to 50% of your time is spent on improvement projects (internal and external) and the remaining time on your commodity.
Operational procurement lies elsewhere in the organization.
International travel is sporadic in the position.
Profile
- You have HBO working and thinking level, preferably also NEVI 1 and 2
- You have demonstrable experience in a technical production environment
- You have at least 5 years of procurement related work experience;
- You have a good oral and written command of the English language; Dutch and German are a plus
- You are communicatively strong and persuasive;
