Purchasing Department
You will work in a dynamic tactical/operational purchasing department, managed by a Purchasing Manager who is part of the Management Team (MT), consisting of 6 people.
The team includes 5 category buyers, each specialized in categories such as steel, wood and concrete, and is supported by an administrative force.
The ERP system SAP is used within the department.
Although production managers and work planners account for a significant portion of operational purchasing, a significant amount still remains with the purchasing department.
The total procurement spend amounts to €180 million.
Currently, many operations are still performed manually, but intensive work is being done to automate the processes.
However, this is a gradual process that will take some time.
Function
In this role, you will be responsible for tactical procurement of various categories including tools, fasteners and logistics.
In addition to your tactical responsibilities, the role also includes operational work.
The vacancy has arisen due to the impending retirement of the current buyer, so you will receive a comprehensive handover and will be well-integrated.
Further responsibilities:
Tactical procurement:
Manage the procurement process; specification phase, sourcing, negotiating, contracting.
Negotiate with suppliers and ensure best value for money.
Automation and process improvement:
Identify opportunities to automate and improve procurement processes, as many of the current processes are still manual.
Work with the Purchasing Manager to develop and implement solutions for process improvements and automation.
Operational Tasks:
Placing orders and following up on deliveries.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
Process administrative procurement documentation and reports.
Stakeholder management:
Working closely with team leaders and other departments to monitor production and inventory needs.
Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure efficient flow of goods and inventory management.
Your profile
- (Construction) technical background
- Experience with procurement within the modular construction or other manufacturing sector is a plus.
- Strong negotiator, communication skills
- Experience in both tactical and operational procurement tasks.
- Accurate and detail-oriented (crucial for managing inventory and preventing production interruptions)
- Proactive, able to see and implement improvement opportunities
- Good command of Dutch language
Offer
- Salary up to €70,000 depending on knowledge and experience obv 40 hours per week
- 25 vacation days + 6 ATV
