Our client designs, builds high-tech components, modules and systems based on precision engineering, machining and 3d printing of metal. They supply manufacturers in the aerospace industry, defense and various other high-tech companies. It employs a total of 650 FTEs, of which 200 work in Asia and 450 in the Eindhoven plant. The company has sales of 100 million. and a spend of about €60 million. The office is beautiful and is in a tremendously inspiring environment. Function
As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for making cost calculations and technical preparation of quotations. You will support sales in substantiating prices and conducting negotiations. You assess the technical feasibility of projects and determine the optimal processing methodology. You will report to the Manager of Cost Engineering.
As a Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing cost calculations. These calculations serve as a reference for operations, purchasing and sales. To do this, you analyze customer demand, assess customer specifications and determine the make/buy decision. You communicate with internal and external stakeholders and determine the optimal assembly and machining strategy. You will be responsible for the technical justification of calculations and reports. You identify constraints, risks, assumptions and opportunities in a business case. You will ensure that calculation data is entered into the ERP system. You provide technical support in negotiations and explore cost reduction opportunities.
Your profile
- You have completed a college education, supplemented by relevant training and/or courses.
- Experience within a mechatronic and/or machining work environment is a requirement.
- You are communicatively strong and have a customer-oriented attitude. You are persuasive and have good anticipatory skills.
- Work experience within a similar technical position is a plus.
- You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages.
- You are proactive.
