VACANCY FILLED

Fleet Sourcing & Contracts Specialist – Offshore

This vacancy is filled and no longer available

Client

This family-owned company is a global leader in offshore construction and services. With over €1.5 billion in annual revenue and around 4,000 employees worldwide, it is renowned for its advanced technical capabilities and strong international footprint. The organization operates a modern fleet of highly specialized vessels and is headquartered near Rotterdam, with multiple offices across the globe.

Procurement

The procurement team is led by the Purchasing Manager, who leads 4 teams:

  • Fleet Procurement Contracting, Unit Head of Procurement Contracts with 7 tactical buyers and this vacancy, and 5 data specialists
  • Fleet Procurement, Unit Head of Fleet Procurement with 9 buyers
  • Project Contracting, Unit Head of Project Contracting with 8 Contract Engineers
  • Projects Procurement, Team Head of Project Procurement with 5 project buyers

Over the past six years, Procurement has taken major steps forward. Most high-value MRO categories are now under contract, leading to a substantial reduction in the supplier base and far better spend control.

Procurement’s impact is increasingly recognized across the business, and collaboration with operations has improved. However, significant upside remains: only 40% of consumables and spare parts are currently purchased under existing agreements, while the majority is still sourced ad-hoc by operations. This presents a clear opportunity to further drive compliance, reduce costs and enhance operational reliability.

What will you do?
As a Fleet Sourcing & Contracts Specialist, you are the tactical driving force behind the procurement of spare parts, consumables and services. You take full ownership of your own sub-category, constantly identifying opportunities to create value. You analyse and optimise your category to improve processes, mitigate risks and deliver measurable savings.

You perform in-depth spend analyses for example, evaluating globally sourced rental materials to gain visibility into cost structures and strengthen your negotiation position. You independently manage supplier contracts, further develop key vendors and act as their internal account manager.

Collaboration with the Technical Department is critical in this role: you translate insights from the field into smarter sourcing choices, sharper specifications and stronger commercial agreements that directly improve fleet performance.
