Permanent job or interim assignment?
Our procurement vacancies come in two forms: a permanent job with the client or an interim assignment for a defined period. Each vacancy shows straight away which form it is. Not sure what suits you? We are happy to think along with you.
What you can expect from a procurement vacancy through xentys:
- A clear job description with location and sector
- For permanent roles, a salary indication up front
- An honest picture of the team, the organisation and the challenge
- One point of contact throughout the whole process
- Support with the conversation about your terms of employment
Permanent procurement vacancies
Most vacancies are permanent jobs, employed directly by the client. Think of tactical, strategic and technical buyer, buyer and procurement manager. xentys handles the recruitment and selection; you sign your contract with the company itself.
Interim assignments
An interim assignment has a fixed duration, often from three months to a year. You might work on a project, absorb a peak or temporarily fill an open position. Also take a look at our interim procurement assignments.
Employed through xentys
For some assignments you work as an employee through xentys, on site at the client. You then have the security of a contract and the variety of new assignments. xentys is NEN-4400-1 certified and holds the SNA quality mark.
From interim to permanent
An interim assignment can turn into a permanent job. For some assignments that is the intention from the start. If the vacancy says so, we discuss the terms with you in advance, so you know where you stand.
Frequently asked questions
Which procurement vacancies does xentys have?
xentys recruits for procurement roles at tactical, strategic and management level, such as tactical buyer, strategic buyer, technical buyer, buyer and procurement manager. Every buyer vacancy you find here is at a technical company in industry, construction, offshore or high tech.
What is the difference between a purchasing vacancy and a procurement vacancy?
In terms of content, often none. In Dutch, procurement is the English term for purchasing and is mainly used by international companies. Sometimes a company uses procurement for the strategic side and purchasing for the operational side. The job description is decisive.
What do you earn as a buyer?
That depends on your level, experience, sector and region. A strategic buyer or procurement manager usually earns more than a tactical buyer. For permanent xentys vacancies, the overview shows a salary indication, so you know where you stand in advance.
Do you need a technical background?
Not always, but it helps. For technical buyer and project procurement roles, clients often ask for a vocational or higher professional education in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a similar field. For other roles, your procurement experience counts for more than your education.
How does applying through xentys work?
You respond to a vacancy or send your CV. This is followed by an introductory meeting in which we discuss your experience and wishes. If the vacancy fits, we introduce you to the client and prepare you for the interview. We keep you informed throughout the process, and we support you with the terms of employment.
Does applying through xentys cost you anything?
No. The client pays xentys for the recruitment and selection. For you as a candidate, it is free of charge.
Are there interim buyer vacancies too?
Yes. Besides permanent jobs, we regularly have interim assignments. You can recognise them by the Interim label in the overview. What this way of working involves is explained on working as an interim buyer.
